Retirement Process

So, you’ve retired and you must be thinking what happens next?

First things first once you’ve retired, we want you to enjoy it so receiving your pension couldn’t be easier. You’ll be paid every month into your nominated bank account on the day before your birthdate, and this will be paid a month in arrears. This first payment will be paid pro-rata up to first pay date from the retirement date with your first full monthly payment the month after.

If you don’t already have access to your online PIN protected Portal – known as My Pension Online (MPO). Sign up for My Pension Online now.

MPO lets you check and manage your personal pension information, as well as contacting Teachers’ Pensions securely. You can complete a range of tasks including viewing your P60s and Payslips, updating your personal details, completing online forms and accessing a range of tools and calculators.

If you already have an account please be aware that next time you log in you’ll notice some changes. This is because once you’ve retired there are parts of MPO you’ll no longer require while new areas and features will become available. For example you’ll no longer have access to a Benefit Statement and certain form won’t be there anymore. However, you will have access to your P60s, payslips and re-employment tools.

At Teachers’ Pensions we try to ensure that whatever you might need help with, we’ve got all the bases covered. That’s why we have a number of different options to get in touch and resources to offer you guidance, help and advice to make sure you have a happy and hassle-free retirement.
