On 1 October 2023, any service in the remedy period (1 April 2015 to 31 March 2022) a member has built up in the career average scheme was rolled back to the final salary scheme. As excess service isn’t pensionable in the final salary scheme, it can’t be rolled back to that scheme.

We’ll be contacting employers where we’ve identified from our records that they’ve employees who have LGPS linked service contributions. We’ll be:

• Notifying you of members identified as in scope in your establishment
• Request you verify the member service lines we provide
• Ask you to engage with LGPS to create a member record once those service lines are confirmed as verified
• Allow us to take alternative action for anyone who is identified as out of scope.
