MCR is the method used to submit service and salary information for your employees to us.

Each month you’ll need to complete the MCR Template and must include the relevant data for all employees that are determined by you as being eligible to be a member of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.

This would include:

  • Full-time and part-time eligible employees that have a permanent contract of employment, casual contracts or employments or temporary contracts of employment
  • All eligible employees that are paying contributions into the Scheme
  • All eligible employees that aren’t paying contributions into the Scheme (opted out etc.).

Each MCR submission will require a corresponding contributions payment to be made that matches the value provided on the submission. You need to consider who is included on each MCR file to allow you to make the appropriate service updates and contribution payments to us in the format required.
